Information for presenters

Venue

The conference will take place at Kalkscheune. Please refer to the venue website for general information about the venue, including floor plans and pictures of the various rooms. The visitor information provides details regarding the location and travel to the venue.

Sessions/flash talks

We are looking forward to the many interactive sessions and presentations that have been proposed. Below please find information about the logistical aspects of organizing your session/flash talk at FORCE2017.

Room layout

  • Galerie: capacity 300, chairs, lectern with microphone, projector + screen, sound
  • Room 1: capacity 40, chairs, lectern with microphone, projector + screen, sound
  • Room 2: capacity 40, chairs, lectern with microphone, projector + screen, sound
  • Room 3: capacity 30, chairs, lectern with microphone, projector + screen, sound
  • Room 4: capacity 40, tables & chairs, lectern with microphone, projector + screen, sound
  • Room 5: capacity 40, tables & chairs, lectern with microphone, projector + screen, sound
  • Atelier: capacity 20, oval table with chairs, no projector/screen, no sound

Except for the main room (Galerie), you need to bring your own laptop for projecting slides etc. A HDMI connector is provided. Please be sure your computer has the correct HDMI connection or adaptor. Please also bring any other material that is required for your sessions (paper, pens, post-its etc).

If your presentation involves live video streaming, we advise you to have a local backup available, as WiFi bandwidth is limited.

Please note that sessions in the main room (Galerie) will be live-streamed, and recordings will be made available from the conference website afterwards.

Posters

  • Posters must be vertical, max A0 size: 84.1 cm (width) × 118.9 cm (length).
  • Time of poster session: Thursday, 26 October, 18:00-20:00
  • Location of poster session: Loft (additional posters from the Berlin Open Access community can be viewed in the Saal)
  • Posters can be mounted from Wednesday Oct 25, 9:00 onwards and need to be taken down by Friday, 27 October, 17:00.
  • Mounting materials (pins) will be available
  • Poster boards are labelled with the abstract number and are arranged by number
  • Atelier: capacity 20, oval table with chairs, no projector/screen, no sound

Demos

  • Time of demo session: Thursday, 26 October, 18:00-20:00
  • Location of demo session: Loft
  • Demos can be set up during the coffee break from 16:30-17:00 or at the start of the demo session.
  • Shared tables with power supply will be available.

Posting materials online

Before your session starts, please upload your slides, poster and/or other materials to the FORCE2017 presentation upload with a CC-BY license (the contact author needs to log in with the same Copernicus Office user ID as for the abstract submission). Alternatively, come to the registration desk and let us help you do that. Feel free to make your material also available online in other places (e.g. Figshare or Zenodo).
